Caramel Dumplings

My mom SWEARS by this recipe. She says that everyone needs to know it, because it is the perfect dessert for last minute guests. You will wow them with this because you probably already have the ingredients, and can whip it up in no time. Try it next time! (Or make it for yourself tonight!)

MEASURE:

1 CUP BROWN SUGAR

2 TBSP BUTTER

2 CUPS WATER

1/2 CUP RAISINS OR DATES


BRING TO A BOIL ON TOP OF STOVE.
POUR INTO 8” SQUARE OR ROUND DISH.


ADD:

1/2 CUP WHITE SUGAR

2 TBSP BUTTER

1 CUP FLOUR

1/2 TSP VANILLA

1/2 CUP MILK

1 TSP BAKING POWDER

PINCH OF SALT


MIX. 

DROP BY SPOONFULS INTO ABOVE LIQUID. 
BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 30 MINUTES.
