Oatmeal cookies (with chocolate chips!) are a favourite for everyone, aren’t they? This recipe is easy to make, and you probably already have the ingredients on hand! This recipe makes a lot, so I like to bake some, and freeze the rest of the dough for another day!
This recipe is from my friend Jessica Henderson. It was her grandma Doreen’s recipe.
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening or butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1½ cups flour
3 cups oatmeal
* You can add chocolate chips, raisins etc, as desired.
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients and bake at 325 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes!
OR
Prepare them for later by either making dough balls or shaping the dough into a roll, wrap in wax paper, freeze, and then slice!
These oatmeal cookies are so simple to make and so delicious!
If you make them, let me know in the comments!
