Pizza Dough

I have yet to meet someone that doesn't love pizza. You can top it with whatever you want, and can always switch it up based on your mood! Whether you like a classic cheese and pepperoni, or are Team Pineapple, pizza always tastes the best with a homemade dough.

This recipe is from friend of mine, Kalla Levere. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 tsp quick rise yeast
1 tbsp white sugar
2 1/2 cups warm water

2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp salt
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
5 1/2 cups white flour

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large mixing bowl dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. let sit until creamy (about 1o minutes).

2. stir the olive oil, whole wheat flour, 4 c of white flour, and salt into yeast mixture. mix in remaining flour 1/2 c at a time, stirring well after each addition. when dough has pulled together, knead on a floured surface (FOR about 8 minutes).

3. lightly oil a large mixing bowl, place dough in bowl and turn to coat in oil. cover with saran wrap and towel. let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

4. deflate dough and divide, usually 3 large pizza doughs.

5. bake at 450 F until cheese browns; usually 12 minutes

NOTE: MAKES A LARGE BATCH SO YOU CAN FREEZE SOME IF YOU WISH.
